Scott Butcher has a physics PhD background and has started several companies including Meaglow Ltd. As the owner of Meaglow, Scott works in the hi-tech field of semiconductor materials, which are used in computer chips and LED lights. Over the years I've developed equipment for producing thin semiconductor films. Some of our equipment has been used by NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab.I'll bring a presentation with lots of pictures showing some of the things I've done in the past as a scientist, eg. worked at universities, government labs, a solar cell company, an LED company. Then I'll show some of what I do now as a hands-on scientist. I'll bring an operating plasma source, which will be very pretty and some safe to handle materials, such as silicon, molybdenum, titanium, stainless steel.
