We will take an inside look at the "invisible infrastructure" that powers our daily lives. In this session, we will explore how telecommunications & engineering comes together to design and build the massive LTE and 5G networks that keep Northern Ontario connected. We'll trace the fascinating physical journey of a simple text message, from the smartphone in your hand to the cell towers dotting our landscape. Following the brief presentation, students will participate in practical, hands-on activities related to wireless network design that are specifically tailored to their age range, giving them a chance to step into the shoes of a network engineer to solve real-world connectivity challenges.

As the Director of Engineering at Tbaytel, Frank Nelli oversees the design and deployment of the invisible infrastructure that keeps Northern Ontario connected.
